Design Director (Freelance)
We’re looking for a Freelance Design Director to develop a digital platform in collaboration with our team in Amsterdam.
We are looking for a Design Director to drive the direction of an online platform encompassing sports, gaming and collectibles. This role calls for a hands-on leader and conceptual thinker capable of transforming ideas into innovative experiences. As the Design Director on this project, you’ll be responsible for envisioning new features, collaborating as part of a cross-functional team and driving the overall design direction of the platform. As part of this role, you will be working closely with animators and 3D artists, providing input on motion and art direction where needed.
Previous experience or a keen interest in sports, gaming and collectibles is also desired.
This is a 3-month fixed term contract with the possibility of extending for up to a year.
10+ years of experience with a track record of delivering successful digital projects and web-based experiences
Portfolio showcasing a diverse range of design projects
Ability to craft highly-engaging, impactful designs that connect on both a rational and emotional level
Outstanding attention to detail
Experience creating UX deliverables such as wireframes, user flows and information architecture
Excellent communication, presentation and storytelling skills with ability to clearly convey your thinking and design rationale
Ability to work collaboratively with team members spanning a variety of different disciplines, including design, animation, development and product management.
Expertise in design tools such as Figma and Adobe Creative Suite
Understanding and empathy for animation, 3D and front-end development standards - the possibilities as well as the constraints.
