Resn is an award-winning creative agency specialising in digital and is looking for a Creative Director based in Wellington, New Zealand.

About you

You will be a champion of innovation and a creative problem solver who can motivate the team with your vision, clarity and enthusiasm. Your expertise is in creating bold, engaging and high-impact work for campaigns, activations, platforms or experiences. A passion for storytelling across multiple mediums, with an understanding of the interactive process is a must.

As a Creative Director at Resn you will be responsible for managing the creative team. Your years of experience with digital and creative work has given you a deep appreciation of the interactive process through emotive storytelling. You’ll interact with clients, present work and sell Resn’s vision. And, of course, you will constantly push yourself to innovate, to extend the boundaries of your creative work, ensuring every project you lay hands on is unique, fresh and of the highest quality.

Skills and Experience

• Experience in a creative leadership role or similar within an agency or brand.

• Expertise in leading and concepting digital design, media and motion graphics. 

• Engage, support, motivate and develop capability and potential in others.

• Attract, retain, and develop talent to complement our values and behaviours.

• Strong portfolio showcasing strategic and innovative solutions.

• Exceptional communication and presentation skills.

• Ability to juggle multiple projects and meet tight deadlines.

• Continuously drive agility and flexibility in responding to market and industry changes.

• Helping to drive new business responses and pitching for potential project opportunities. 

Key Accountabilities 

• Defines the conceptual and aesthetic direction for projects. Set the tone, pushing for ideas that challenge conventions and captivate audiences.
  
  

• At Resn, creativity is a craft. The Creative Director fosters an environment where designers, animators, and developers are empowered to explore, experiment, and refine their skills. They provide mentorship, feedback, and inspiration, ensuring that every project reaches its full creative potential.
  
  

• Creative Strategy.  Collaborates with UX designers, and technologists to ensure that Resn’s creative output isn’t just visually stunning, but deeply connected to audience behaviour and client goals.
  
  

• From pitch to execution, steers the creative process, crafting narratives, visual styles, and interactions that elevate digital experiences. They challenge teams to push past the obvious, ensuring that Resn’s work is consistently fresh, edgy, and culturally relevant.
  
  

• Ensures that all creative work aligns with Resn’s meticulous standards, maintaining consistency, coherence, and craft across multiple platforms and formats.
  
  

• Represents Resn’s creative prowess, crafting compelling pitches and presentations that sell bold ideas and inspire clients to take creative risks.
  
  

• Driving Business Through Creative Impact: Play a pivotal role in maintaining and expanding the agency’s influence, solidifying Resn’s position as an industry leader in digital craft and storytelling.
